Five major initiations required for full liberation (the so-called "Liberation from the Wheel of Rebirth") and five further initiations that relate to more cosmic levels of spiritual service and attainment.
Here is a summarized description of Initiations 1–10.
***
Initiation 1: The Birth (of the Christ in the Heart)
Also called: The Birth Initiation
Key theme: Soul awareness begins to dominate the personality.
Symbol: Birth of the Christ in the cave (Bethlehem analogy).
Result: The person becomes consciously aligned with the soul (higher self) for the first time. The soul takes control over the personality life.
***
Initiation 2: The Baptism (Purification)
Key theme: Emotional purification and control of desire.
Symbol: Baptism in the Jordan River.
Result: Mastery over the astral/emotional body. Increased service and alignment with the spiritual path. This is the mark of the accepted disciple.
***
Initiation 3: The Transfiguration
Key theme: The mind is fully integrated with soul; the personality is a willing instrument.
Symbol: The Transfiguration of Christ on the mount.
Result: Full control over the mental body. The soul's light shines through the purified personality. Entry into the Spiritual Hierarchy.
***
Initiation 4: The Renunciation (Crucifixion)
Also called: The Great Renunciation
Key theme: Renunciation of all attachments—even to the soul.
Symbol: The Crucifixion.
Result: Total relinquishment of personal will in favor of Divine Will. Known as the Arhat level in Eastern systems. This is liberation from the cycle of rebirth (moksha/nirvana).
***
Initiation 5: The Revelation (Resurrection)
Key theme: Revelation of the Divine Plan; full conscious cooperation with the Will of God.
Symbol: The Resurrection.
Result: Becomes a Master of Wisdom, able to function freely on all planes. Fully liberated from karmic necessity. Enters the Kingdom of God as a conscious co-creator.
***
Initiation 6: The Decision
Key theme: Choice of one of the Seven Cosmic Paths.
Result: The initiate chooses a path of higher cosmic evolution beyond Earth. Often withdraws from outer service in preparation. Called a Chohan.
***
Initiation 7: The Resurrection or Ascension
Key theme: Full mastery of the monadic life (spiritual will).
Result: Full expression of the Monad (the divine spark). This initiate may now take roles such as Planetary Logos apprentice or cosmic service agent.
***
Initiation 8: The Transition
Key theme: Transition into truly cosmic consciousness.
Result: The initiate is no longer a "human" in any sense, but a cosmic being with planetary or solar-level functions. May become a member of the Council of Shamballa.
***
Initiation 9: The Refusal
Key theme: Refusal to pass into even higher states in order to stay and serve evolution (akin to the Bodhisattva vow).
Result: This initiate may be of the rank of Bodhisattva, Kumaras, or one who has chosen sacrifice for planetary service.
***
Initiation 10: The Great Choice
Key theme: Final liberation from all limitation.
Result: Total union with divine purpose, functioning at levels we cannot comprehend. These beings may become Planetary Logoi, Solar Angels, or enter higher cosmic service.
***
The first three initiations are connected with human development.
The fourth marks a great turning point—liberation from the need for rebirth.
Initiations 5–10 are generally regarded as post-human or "superhuman" stages of evolution.
***
In my experience, Initiation 2 is Soul Merger at the heart/third eye. Experience of the Soul. Soul is the guide. Service begins.
Initiation 3 is Monadic Merger at the crown/third eye. Soul is no longer the middle guide at Initiation 3. Soul embodiment happens. Transfiguration. Monad is now the guide. Service expands.
Initiation 4 is when Soul merges with Monad and therefore Personality is At One with the Monad (At-One-Ment). Initiations 2-4 require a period of expanding service for the highest good.
Initiation 5 is Planetary Service like dharma.
